35/35

Today marks 35 weeks down and 35 days to go!!  A quote from one of my students today: "That baby is really growing!  I think I would feel claustrophobic in there!"  Haha!

Baby Burton is apparently still the size of a large cantaloupe...only a heavier one now. Haha!  Baby should be approaching 6lbs now or soon.  Blood circulation has been perfected and his/her immune system is ready to fight off infections outside of the womb!  Baby is ready.....but Tyson and I could use a few more weeks to get some things ready! :)

Apparently the tissues in my body are softening and loosening in preparation for delivery which is what could cause the infamous 3rd trimester waddle.  Anyone willing to tell me that I'm waddling?  I don't feel like I am...but that probably means that I am!

Wendy was wondering if I had the dark line down my belly.  I thought I had mentioned in a previous post that yes, I have it!  Anyway, I had Tyson take a front picture this week as well.

We had our 34 week appointment on Friday and baby's heartbeat was still in the 140s.  We haven't been any lower than 142.  I also took a "survey" on Facebook and the consensus seems to be that Baby Burton is a boy.  We'll see...  :)

This weekend I have my last baby shower.  Tyson has been working hard on my grandma's glider, so hopefully I can post some pictures of that next week.  We forgot to take a "before" picture of the glider, so I might have to do some searching and see if I can find one!

34 weeks!

Time is running out!!  Baby is now the size of a large cantaloupe, weighing in around 5.5lbs and 21inches!  The growing that Baby Burton will be doing between now and his/her debut will only be in pounds.  There is no more room to stretch out!

Baby is also packing on the fat!  This is what will make those rolly little arms and thighs that everyone loves and that only babies can make look cute!

I'm experiencing some of the first trimester symptoms again, but "they" say it's normal.  Baby B continues to head-butt me in the bladder ALL DAY long!!  Another symptom that has made a come-back is the tiredness!  This post is coming late because I took an accidental cat nap during the Bachelor and Tyson woke me up when it was over to go to bed!  Dang it!

Also, according to my dream on Saturday night, the following is going to happen:
-we are having a boy (this is the first dream that I have had confirmation of a gender)
-my body is going to look exactly the way it did before, right after labor (Lord, hear my prayer!!)
-I will forget to tell anyone that we had a baby until a few days later  (Oops...)

I am still brave enough to show my stomach in these pictures, but goodness!  I am always surprised when I look at the picture on the camera and on here.  I see this belly every day, but I like to think that the camera is adding on a few more inches.....   :)

33 weeks!!

We are down to bi-weekly doctor appointments for the next month....then on to weekly appointments.  That is making this all REALLY real!!

Baby Burton is now the size of a pineapple!!!

Baby Burton is just shy of 5 pounds and anywhere from 19-22 inches long!!  Baby's fingernails have also reached the end of the his/her fingers by now.

I didn't end up getting my bag packed yesterday like I had planned.  I did, however, get a load of teeny tiny onesies and sleepers washed, dried, and folded!!  As of right now, Baby Burton's wardrobe consists of LOTS of yellow, green, ducks, and frogs.  I'll have to post a picture of some of the cute outfits that actually belong to Baby Burton and we aren't borrowing from Wendy!

50 days to go!!

Just a quick post to say that we only have 50 days until we meet Baby Burton!!  Although we both know that it could be sooner (or even later).  Today after lunch for Wendy's birthday, my plan is to get my hospital bag packed as much as possible.  I'll continue adding to it but Tyson "threatened" me by saying "You can either pack it yourself now or I'll pack it."  I know I don't want him packing it!!!

Becker Baby Shower

On Tuesday, the Becker staff threw a baby shower for me at school.  I didn't know what to expect or how many people would actually come.  We have such a big staff so sometimes it's hard to get to know people personally in those cases.  Anyway, it was a pretty good turn out.  There were also several people who couldn't make it but still left their gift at school for me.  I was extremely grateful for everyone who came and all of the love everyone showed (even those who weren't able to come) for Baby Burton!!

Once again, Baby Burton is proving to be spoiled!!

I don't have any pictures from the shower, but I set out all of the gifts and took a picture tonight :)

32 weeks....

....and baby is the size of a HONEYDEW!!

Here's what baby B is up to this week: At this point in fetal development, baby could grow a full inch more this week alone!!!  Weight gain can range from a tired more growth to a full doubling before the big debut.  I officially have more baby than amniotic fluid as well...which is why all of those jabs, kicks, and punches seem like they are extra hard lately.  There is less cushioning now!  Baby is also closing his/her eyes when sleeping, and opening them when awake.  Baby B should be practicing sucking as well.  And most importantly, baby's immune system would be able to protect him/her from mild infections now!!

As far as me....What to Expect is offering suggestions to help the "3rd Trimester insomnia", but I haven't been experiencing any of that really.  I haven't had ANY trouble sleeping.  As soon as Dr. Hintz gave me the go-ahead to sleep however was comfortable, I stopped worrying about not sleeping on my back, and focused on getting a good night's sleep.  Thank you Dr. H!!!

Is where the shower will be!

On Saturday, Wendy hosted my first baby shower.  It was Dr. Seuss themed, so there was lots of blue and red!  Everything was super cute, including the Dr. Seuss cookies!  We started the shower by everyone writing a piece of advice or words of encouragement on a diaper, so when Tyson and I are up in the middle of the night with a baby who won't sleep, we'll see a friendly reminder of how worth it this all is!  Next was a Dr. Seuss book trivia game.  I got 8 out 10 correct; I'd say that's pretty good! :)  Then it was on to the presents, but I had to play a "Price is Right" game in order to get a gift.  Wendy would show me a baby item (i.e. baby lotion, wipes, bottles, formula, etc) and I had to guess the price correct within $0.50 in order to get a gift to open.  Well, it was a rude awakening of how expensive this little baby is going to be! I only guessed within $0.50 on two items!  Luckily, Wendy still let me open all of my gifts after I failed at the game!

We were definitely blessed with some awesome gifts!!  Baby Burton is spoiled already.  After gifts, it was time to eat!  Wendy had asked what I wanted and I gave her a list to pick from.  The menu included chicken salad on croissants, fresh fruit, my mom's macaroni salad, punch, and cookies!!  It was all delicious and I got to bring some leftovers home!  Now, we just have to find a place to store all of these baby items!  I think the nursery is going to start filling up fast!

Here are a few teaser pictures.  I need to check with my mom and sister for more pictures.

Some of the cute decorations

All of the gifts unpacked at home!

Red fish, blue fish, & Cat in the Hat cookies!! They were DELICIOUS!
