Two Months

I can't believe we're at two months already!  This month went slower than the first though. 

We went in for Kai's two-month well-baby check up this morning. He currently weighs 11lbs 13ounces (50th percentile) and is 24in long (85th percentile).  Dr. Smith said he's longer than he is wide which is exactly what he likes to see in babies.  Dr. Smith then checked his neck strength by pulling up on his hands and then put him on his tummy (he said he's doing great!!).  After he left, we waited awhile for the nurses to come in and give Kai the dreaded shots.  First he got an oral vaccine and was smiling at the nurse.  Then he got one shot in his left leg and two in his right.   He was really smiley, which quickly turned to the loudest scream/cry I've heard yet.  Poor guy.  He quickly calmed down pretty quickly though.  He fell asleep before we even made it to the van.  I headed to Target to get some baby Tylenol and he woke up when we were there and was all smiles!!

At two months Kai is:
-wearing size 1 diapers
-wearing 0-3 or 3 month clothes
-eating every 3 hours (if he's napping, he usually wakes up right on the dot!!)
-smiling A LOT
-cooing
-rolling over from tummy to back
-focusing and following objects from more than 12inches away
-not sleeping through the night yet, but usually has about a 5 hour stretch, so we're down to one feeding in the middle of the night
-can lift his head 90 degrees when on his tummy

Other things about Kai at two months:
-he enjoys bath time again!!
-we're back to swaddling at night (with Swaddle Me blankets) which I think is what helps him sleep better
-still loves his swing and falls asleep in it easily
-he's awake a lot more during the day now and loves being talked to
-we've tried out the Bumbo, which he loves, but he just rests his head against the back of it, so we need to work on him holding his head up in it
-still likes being in his car seat, although I've noticed lately that it doesn't always put him to sleep like it used to - sometimes he sits in the backseat just looking around and talking to himself
